Zaven Akian currently serves as Chairman of the Board of IntIntegra Technologies, one of the world’s premier suppliers of high-power RF microwave transistors, modules, and power amplifiers for defense and civil radar applications, located in El Segundo, CA. Mr. Akian is also Chairman of FluiDyne Fluid Power, a diversified hybrid-manufacturer of industrial and mobile oil and lube pumps and valves, located in Frazer, MI. Mr. Akian also serves as a Director on the Board of Golden State Bancorp.
Mr. Akian was born in Beirut, Lebanon in November 1942. After receiving his Baccalaureate from the International College of the American University of Beirut, he immigrated to the United States to study at Adelphi University where he earned BS degrees in Mathematics and Physics after which he pursued his graduate studies of MS in Applied Mathematics followed by MBA at UCLA.
Mr. Akian has established a foundation through which he supports philanthropic work for various Armenian cultural and religious organizations. He is a donor to the American University of Armenia, including an endowment for the College of Science & Engineering which now bears his name. He is also a proud recipient of the Medal of St Gregory the Illuminator by Catholicos Karekin II, and the Medal of Gratitude issued by the President of Armenia. Mr. Akian and his wife reside in Los Angeles, California.
